Click Authority Review

Unlike most of the click fraud protection services reviewed in this section of our site, Click Authority has no code to install. Nor does it have any software to install, for that matter.

And fortunately, like the best of its competitors, Click Authority works with all ad media – PPC search engines, banner ads, email campaigns, etc. – across all PPC networks – Google, Yahoo! (Overture), FindWhat, etc.

Additional Information:

All you need to do to activate Click Authority’s click filtering service is replace the Target URL in your campaigns with the Click Authority Tracking URL. It’s as simple as that!

With Click Authority you can track both your ads and your affiliates’ ads. You can identify repeat visits from across multiple IPs and proxy servers and track different visitors using the same IP address.

Referring URL sending multiple visitors to multiple Click Authority clients are flagged accordingly and studied to determine exactly how many users are perpetrating the clicks.

Further, IPs and proxies suspected of questionable clicks or worse, found to be conducting fraudulent clicks are carefully reviewed and, if appropriate, added to a constantly updated Click Authority Block List that is used on an ongoing basis to protect every Click Authority client from those sources.

Click Authority considers itself a click filtering service as much as a click fraud protection service. Click Authority enables you to filter results by date and time stamp, domain, IP address, geographic location, browser, and more.

Click Authority prides itself on its detailed, fully-filterable reports. A typical Click Authority reports lays out in neat table format such crucial information as:

  • whether a click is consider Acceptable or Questionable

  • time and date stamp

  • ad title

  • ad network

  • IP address

  • domain

  • country

  • browser language

  • (if activated) Captcha’s determination on whether the visitor was human or machine (see below)

  • keyword(s) used

  • cost

  • comments (probably the most valuable column because this is where Click Authority helps you interpret the results)

A click summary is listed above the table including:

  • total clicks

  • acceptable clicks (as a quantity and as a percentage of total clicks)

  • questionable clicks (as a quantity and as a percentage of total clicks)

  • acceptable CPC

  • questionable CPC

  • link to download report

Currently, Click Authority does not offer visitor tracking to indicate how long a visitor spent on your site and what pages they viewed/what path they took, but they say they are working on it, and could be adding it to their packages any time now.

Captcha Verification: This optional service redirects visitors from certain URLs or IP addresses to a Captcha Verification page that asks them to manually enter in a 6 digit code before being sent to the intended landing page. Regardless of whether they enter the code in correctly or not, the visitor will subsequently be taken to the proper landing page.

You, in meantime, will receive regular detailed reports of which visitors entered in the code correctly and which didn’t, telling you which clicks came from human beings and which ones came from a program.
