Amazing Ad Copy Secrets Revealed by Marlon Sanders (CEO of Higher Response Marketing, Inc. and creator of Push Button Sales Letters – also reviewed on our website) outlines a simple “12 step formula for writing copy that sells”. Ironically, we found the copy on his sales website (the URL above) sorely lacking and ultimately unconvincing. There were typos and grammatical errors. And certain turns of phrase plum turned us off (“he put spit and polish on it”; “my eyes really bugged”; “Before that, things sucked”).

But, we are not here to judge a book by its cover – hey, it’s not even a book he’s selling! – we are here to review it. So, what’s in the videos?

What Marlon is selling is his own personal step-by-step “MASTER KSL SYSTEM FOR CREATING DROP DEAD, KILLER SALES LETTERS THAT SUCK UP MONEY LIKE A STRAW ON STEROIDS!”  Wow. That title alone rendered us speechless for at least a minute and a half. (“KSL”, incidentally, stands for “Killer Sales Letters”.) 

As far as Sanders is considered – and he makes this abundantly clear, multiple times – all internet marketing success hinges on the sales letter. To that end, his videos do instruct you on how to capture readers with your first sentence and keep them riveted to your copy – how to thwart the deadly “click and run syndrome”.

Yet to our pleasure and relief, in these videos Sanders imparts a wide variety of little known tips or tricks, for example:

  • how to use step-by-step templates for all your marketing documents

  • the two price points proven to sell best on the internet

  • why it’s an erroneous presumption that high conversions come from high quality products and high quality customer service

  • how to use postscripts (“P.S.”) to increase revenues

  • the 12 most persuasive words in the English language as determined by a Yale university study

  • how to unequivocally prove your case to your potential buyer

  • how to triple the selling power of a testimonial

  • secrets from the Guinness Book of World’s Records’ World’s Greatest Salesperson on closing those sales

  • how to monetize a visitor’s interest when their wallet isn’t willing

It may also be worth noting here that Marlon Sanders has a Masters Degree in Psychology. It is a generally accepted truth that understanding human psychology is way more important to successful salesmanship than proper grammar. And it’s the psychological insight Sanders brings to these methods that, even when his presentation might falter, makes them shine - particularly when he applies to ruthlessly slaying popular myths one after the other about what supposedly works in internet marketing.
