NicheFinder Review

Produced and presented by Niche Market Research (or NicheMarketResearch), NicheFinder boasts an intuitive, easily navigable, table-oriented interface and a super-fast engine and network. Keyword lists use exact and broad matching, and lists can be combined and automatically filtered with the click of a button.

Additional Information:

Each query results in over 500 keywords. All the lists you generate can be easily managed, refined, and maintained using a handy keyword management system equipped with a variety of analytic tools. The lists generated are easy to manipulate (sort, cut & paste, add/delete).

You can choose to display the lists with none, some, or all of the stats charted alongside them. The full main screen generated by a NicheFinder keyword query is comprised of the following stats:

Supply & Demand
NicheFinder calculates a keyword’s supply (how many websites use that keyword in its pay-per-click internet ad campaigns) and its demand (how many search queries are conducted with that keyword included in the search terms).

KEI
Then, among the most useful of the stats the new version of NicheFinder, NicheFinder 2, provides is the inimitable Keyword Effectiveness Index (KEI), a measure of the ratio between the supply of a keyword and the demand for it.

Google & Yahoo!
NicheFinder will even tell you precisely how many search queries with that keyword included were conducted on Google and Overture (Yahoo!). NicheFinder’s default setting is to use Google’s HotBot version, but you can also opt to receive data from Google AdWords if you wish. NicheFinder culls data from Overture’s Search Term Suggestion Tool as well as counting Overture’s paid listings data.

Incidentally, Niche Finder is search engine friendly, meaning that your research is not causing undue and unwarranted strain on Google, Overture, or any other search engine.

Currently NicheFinder 2 is not very global savvy – in other words, you won’t find much in the way of international data (stats on international searches, for example) herein. Though this functionality is being worked into future versions of the software, currently NicheFinder’s usefulness to businesses with an international reach is limited.

Not only will NicheFinder 2 generate a list of keywords and stats for you to peruse, but you’ll also get links to the websites where those keyword suggestions were culled from. You’ll also find links to Overture and Digital Point suggestion tools for any keyword that comes up.

The data you compile can then be saved as text, HTML, or CSV files and is easily transferable into Excel spreadsheets, databases, and other applications. NicheFinder offers helpful and attractive on demand HTML reports with bar charts clearly displaying the differential in the KEIs.

You can open and save files in multiple formats for easy data transfer. You can also clean up the lists you compile, deleting select words, and even “blacklisting” any of the websites NicheFinder uses to find its keyword suggestions that consistently provide what you deem lousy suggestions.

You can set queries to result in fewer than 500 suggestions if you like. You can also set the minimum number of words per suggestion, if for example you’d like to find multiple-word keyword phrases and not just one-word keywords.

NicheFinder offers more than just keyword suggestions too (though that is without a doubt their primary service). They also help you find new products and services to promote and sell including the current hottest in your industry, ways to improve your products and services, complementary products and services, new joint venture opportunities, new target markets, topic-suggestions for the articles on your content pages, a gauge of the current market for your products and services, domain name suggestions, and more.

The Niche Finder website also hosts a variety of educational and informative articles and market reports on relevant topics as diverse as choosing products/services to sell, starting an ebusiness, finding your target markets, and analyzing your ebusiness plan. NicheMarketResearch also publishes an opt-in email newsletter with search engine optimization tips, top keywords lists, and other ROI (return on investment)-improving features.

Niche Finder is for Windows-users only, though users of Windows-emulators on Macs have reported unqualified success using NicheFinder 2 on their machines as well. A direct connection to the internet is also required (read: no proxy servers).
